A little of This and a little of That

I'm playing catch up with my pictures. Let's just say I'm becoming a pathetic blogger over here. Pappy Slagenweit these pictures are for you. :)

This was Carter's first official 0-3 month outfit.( Like I said I'm playing catch-up.) He is now growing out of a lot of his 0-3 month outfits. My chunky monkey is officially 7 weeks old today.

Cousins are the BEST! Mason and Zach are 6 weeks apart. I love that they are growing up together!

I just want to squish those chubby little cheeks!
Sucking away on his tasty little fingers. He put himself to sleep Sunday morning by sucking his thumb. It was precious!

Tyler and his best friend, Jenness. When she was leaving the other day Tyler ran to her stating he needed to give her a kiss. Good thing she is already married. :)

The boys love to play "Super Skeeter". Its off a Max Lucado DVD, Skeeter is the mosquito who sings a song while wearing his cape. Zach was running around the house with his hooded towel on his head and a cowboy hat. He is quite the super hero.
This isn't the greatest picture, but I had to include it. I asked the boys to get their shoes on since we were headed on an outing. They both came tromping out in their fireman boots. :)

The boys had the best time at Maddox Heath's Birthday party. They got to be involved in their first egg toss. Thankfully the eggs were mighty and with stood many drops before they gave up the ghost.

We had a great time with the photo booth setting on Mom's Ipad. :) One thing I determined is we should save a ton of money on dental expenses considering what tiny teeth we have. Unfortunately, the money we save on our teeth will be spent buying soap to scrub our mammoth foreheads. Haha.

Happy Fourth of July

I hope your Fourth was as special as ours. A day spent with family and friends, good food and the sound of fireworks crackling at the end of the day. Oh, and a small photo shoot thrown in to commemorate the day.

This is how we all felt by the end of the day: plain tuckered out. Did I mention that Tyler can sleep in any position?? :)

Mr Carter is 4 Weeks Old

Today marks four weeks since Carter joined our family. In some ways it seems like we just brought him home from the hospital, and in other ways it is if he has always been a part of our family. Amazing how that happens. Last night, he blessed us by sleeping a solid five hours. Tonight I'm hoping for six hours of blissful sleep. We shall see how that goes. ha. I'm enjoying these newborn days with this little guy for I know they will slip away all too quickly.
In other news, Zach continues to add several new words to his vocabulary on an almost daily basis. I get so tickled at him because he adds an "h" to the beginning of a lot of his words. For example, Big is Hig, Rock is Hock, Buckle is Huckle, Walk is Halk, and so on. Yesterday he stopped calling me Ma-ma and started calling me Mom. He was so proud of this new found name, and he called for me all day long. So cute.

And, I'll finish up with sharing a few Tylerisms. I told Tyler to finish up his breakfast earlier this week, and he replied, " Whatever you say kiddo". I turned 30 today and he wished me a Happy Birthday and said, "Are you going to be four?". I told him that no Mommy was getting really old, and he said, "Oh, so you are going to be five?". :) Zach decided to throw sand in Tyler's face while they were playing outside, and Tyler quickly came to me and said, "Mommy, you have got to deal with him".

Baby of Mine

“Sometimes,' said Pooh, 'the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”  A. A Milne

We are loving having this little guy as a part of our family. He is soooo precious. He has by far been the easiest baby of the three.  Maybe that has something to do with Mommy being the most relaxed this time around. ;)
While all three of my guys are down for their naps I wanted to do a quick update not only so that I can remember all the details, but for Pappy Slagenweit since he is all the way in PA.
We were discharged from the hospital yesterday.( Unfortunately, we had to stay an extra day since Carter's bilirubin level was too high.) So Sunday Carter spent the day chilling under the "UFO" bili light. Thankfully Sunday evening and Monday Morning his bilirubin levels were perfect...better than the Doctor's expected actually. Needless to say, we were beyond excited to wave goodbye to the hospital and hello to home sweet home.
Here the little fellow is in his "going" home outfit. The fun fact is that all three of the boys have worn this same outfit to "go" home in... since I'm a sentimental gal it's extra special to me. Another fun fact is Tyler was born May 23,2008 and Carter May 24, 2012. Both boys had a "due date" of June 11th. We were discharged from the hospital with both boys on Memorial Day. I don't know either June 11th isn't a good date for us, or both boys just wanted to celebrate Memorial day with us. :)

Definitely not loving his car seat. Thankfully once he got in the van he slept all the way home.
The boys rushed out into the garage as soon as we got home so they could see their brother. They are loving, loving, loving having him home. They also love to "help" with the baby. They decided the baby was hungry not long after we had been home and so Zachy went to the cupboard and supplied crackers for the baby and Tyler supplied a sippy of juice.  Thanks to Zachy, Carter has been on one official joy ride in his bassinet.  Hopefully, that was the last joy ride as the boys have both been instructed they can only look in the bassinet not touch it.

First at home bath --thanks Mammaw. Thankfully Mammaw is staying with us for the next couple nights, and then coming back to help during the days. Blessings on her!

                                                Enough pictures already, Mommy!
And, just for an update on Zachy, he has started saying new words every day. Today his new words so far have been: popcorn, birds, lemon. Jonathan and I got so tickled a couple weeks ago when Zach asked for a "bite of salad". He might not be able to say bye bye, but he asks for a bite of salad. Silly boy.
